Water: A Celebration in Song
Water is a transparent, tasteless, odorless, and nearly colorless chemical substance, which is the main constituent of streams, lakes and oceans, and the fluids of most living organisms. It is vital for all known forms of life, even though it provides no calories or organic nutrients. –Wikipedia
We join with community partners for a program celebrating the lakes and rivers that define Madison’s landscape and enrich its resident’s lives, while drawing attention to water issues in Madison and beyond. Our program includes a new commissioned work by local composer Scott Gendel, classic folk song favorites (including an original by Madison folk legends Lou and Peter Berryman!), and beautiful melodies and poetry ranging from the Renaissance to the present day.
